Abstract | ||
The research includes the synthesis and identification of type mixed ligands complexes of M+2 ions using amino acid (L- praline) as a primary ligand and Saccharin as a secondary ligand. The mixed ligand complexes of composition, Na2[M(C7H4NO3S)2(C5H8NO2)2]; where L-proline (C5H9NO2) symbolized as proH and Saccharin (C7H5NO3S) symbolized (SacH). The ligand and the metal chlorides were brought in to reaction at room temperature in ethanol as solvent .The reaction required the following molar ratio [(1:2:2)(metal:2Sac :2pro)] with M+2 ions, where:- M(II)= Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II), Sac = C7H4NO3S, pro =C5H8NO2 The results showed that the deprotonated ligand (L-proline) to prolinate ion (pro) by using (NaOH) coordinated to metal ions as bidentate ligand through the oxygen atom of the carboxylate group (-COO-), and the nitrogen atom of the imine group (NH), where the saccharin coordinated as a monodendato through the nitrogen atom. | ||
