Abstract | ||
It is difficult for any critic to separate utterance and meaning because meanings once arise in the soul of the artist in the creative process they become inseparable from their utterances. But when the critic deals with them separately it is done purposefully which is mainly the uncovering of the aspects of these two principles and their artistic features. The two critics IbnTabatiba and Al-Jurjani complement each other. While IbnTabatiba pays more attention to meaning than to utterance, Al-Jurjani does the opposite. They agree on them through the agency of the context. | ||
