Abstract : Nine cultivars were use in this study (Aromatic 48, Aromatic 64. China 5, China 8, Early 14, BT7, LT-2, HT-1 and T85) in addition to local variety (Jasmine). This study was carried out at Al-Mishkhab Rice Research Station of the State Board for Agricultural Research, Najaf Governorate during the seasons of 2009 and 2010. The design of the experiment was (RCBD) with three replicates, For achieve estimation some genetic parameters and path coefficient analysis between grain yield and its components. The results of variance analysis revealed that significant different between varieties at 1% in all characters (days to 50% flowering, plant height, number of panicles/plant, panicle length, number of seed/ panicles, grain yield, biological yield, harvest index and weight of 1000 seed) in both seasons, T85 superior in grain yield and biological yield and China 8 in plant height, panicle length and weight of 1000 seed. The phenotype correlation was showed plus value between grain yield and days to 50% flowering with harvest index weight of 1000 seed in 2009, with biological yield at the both season. While genetic correlation was plus and significant between grain yield and days to 50% flowering in 2010, with biological yield at the both season. The results path coefficient analysis was showed that number of panicles/plant and number of seed/ panicles high direct effects on the grain yield and indirect positive from the panicle length ( mid and high) in the season respectively, Also that depending two characters in improvement grain yield | ||
