Abstract | ||
A prospective study was executed over a period of 18 month starting from junary2002 to June 2003 in the central pediatric teaching hospital -Alaskan in Baghdad. A random sample of 184 children under 13.5 year of age with exanthema {chickenpox positive (69)& chickenpox negative (115) }and sample of 66{control (63)& control positive (3)}as a control were enrolled in this study. Evaluate frequency of primary Varicella infection ((chickenpox)) then Assess frequency &importance of the sex, age, date on primary Varicella infection and the result show Chickenpox infection is common infective Exanthema in different pediatric age group it's frequency was 69(37.5%). The highest positivity rate of chickenpox was observed in the (5-10) year of life {75%} & it was detected with a higher prevalence in April to May 2002 & year round, i.e. in late winter- spring season. | ||
