| Abstract | ||
| As a result of aspiring to join the World Trade Organization, Iraqi institutions (legislative and financial) seek to meet the requirements of that accession and the accompanying pursuit of the need to comply with the agreements issued by the World Trade Organization, such as the General Agreement for Liberalization of Trade in Services and its annexes (Annex I related to financial services) And just as this requires meeting all the objective and procedural requirements necessary to prepare the banking environment in Iraq towards global openness, As a result, highlighting the importance of liberalizing banking services and the extent of the Iraqi banking sector's need for that, and for the various groups: the banking institution, the banking customer, economic development) as the gradual liberalization required a study and analysis of all the positive and negative effects, on the basis of which the extent of that need is assessed : banking liberalization.
