Abstract | ||
The research aimed to Identify the knowledge training needs of cucumber growers in the field of crop pest control in the village of Al-Azza / Samarra district in general, to Identify the correlation between the knowledge training needs of cucumber growers in the field of crop pest control in the village of Al-Azza / Samarra district and all the following independent variables: (age, Educational level, number of years of cultivation of the cucumber crop, type of holding, possession of spraying equipment, Attitude towards using pesticides, sources of Agricultural information), then arranging each field of research in descending order . The research included all cucumber growers in the village of Al- Azza in the Samarra district, and their number is (84) farmers. The results showed that the highest value of the knowledge training need was within the medium category, followed by the low category. The results also showed a significant correlation at the level (0.01) between (the number of years of cultivation of the cucumber crop, information sources) and the knowledge training needs. The researcher concluded that the information and knowledge of cucumber growers in the field of pest control is below the desired level, with the increase in the number of years of cultivation of the cucumber crop, the experience of farmers in the field of crop pest control increases, and the more knowledge of cucumber growers on the various sources of crop pest control makes them more knowledgeable and thus reduces their training needs knowledge. The researcher recommends intensifying the extension efforts provided by the agricultural division of the research area in order to raise the level of information of farmers in the research area. | ||
