Abstract | ||
The legislative body, upon the provisions of the Libyan legislation, has an important role in implementing the sustainable development aims. It is decided in the light of its multiple competencies contained in the text of Article Two of Law No. 4 of 2014 regarding the adoption of the internal system of the Libyan House of Representatives in terms of promulgating laws and approving the budget; In addition to accountability and oversight of government actions, it also has the authority to approve the general policy submitted by the government that is required to be consistent with the legislative intent pursued by Parliament in the texts of any legislation it issues, including the implementation of the sustainable development goals; Thus, sustainability, in light of those goals, is a legal reference for Libyan legislation. Therefore, we do hereby in this research some approaches and mechanisms related to the role of the Libyan House of Representatives in monitoring the implementation of the sustainable development goals, beyond the representative role of its members. | ||
