Abstract | ||
The current research aims to identify the intellectual life in the city of Badghis, where the research was divided into two sections. Analytical and sometimes, the researcher reached a set of the following conclusions: 1. The city of Badghis is located in the quarter of Herat, which is one of the quarters of Khorasan, and it is one of the important districts in the region, and its name is related to its climate as it is a point of departure for the wind. 2. The Zoroastrian religion was prevalent among the people of Badghis, as well as the Manichaean and Mazdak religions before the Arab Islamic conquest. The city witnessed a wide spread of Islam and the elimination of ancient Persian religions due to the mixing of Arabs with the local population, as a result of religious tolerance and social integration. 3. The settlement of some Arab families in the city of Badghis, who were transferred from Basra and Kufa in the year (51 AH / 671 AD). 4. The city of Badghis became more stable and Islam spread in it after the organized conquest carried out by Qutayba bin Muslim, the governor of Khorasan (86-96 AH / 705-714 AD) and the settlement of the soldiers in the open areas. | ||
