Abstract | ||
this research, using solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD ) type (CR -39) to determined radon (222Rn ) , radium ( 226Ra ) and uranium ( 238U) concentrations in samples for local and imported fish collected from selected regions of Iraq. The result show that the less concentration of those nuclei in fish sample of Duhok governorates ranges between ( 198.208 – 340.917 ) Bq/m3 , ( 0.03404 – 0.07507 ) Bq/kg , (0.02724 – 0.06291) ppm with mean values 250.4675 Bq/m3 , 0.05439 Bq/kg and 0.049765 ppm respectively .and the highest concentration in fish sample of Basrah governorates ranges between ( 451.914335 – 1014.825175 ) Bq/m3 , ( 0.07762665 – 0.18158282 ) Bq/kg , (0.065054 – 0.15217497) ppm with mean values 756.36182 Bq/m3 , 0.1518944 Bq/kg and 0.1272947 ppm respectively .and the levels of concentration above nuclide lower than the permissible limits recommended by ICRP therefor the fish are radioactive safe as human food . | ||
