Abstract | ||
The concept of administrative empowerment is regarded as one of the management concepts in contemporary management science. The application of this concept in universities and educational institutions of the utmost importance at both the administrative and educational levels. The importance of applying administrative empowerment has increased with the increasing importance of the devolution of powers and its role in the completion and the fulfillment of tasks in lesser time and effort. The importance of quality of functional life to raise the level of education and professional aspirations in an environment suffering from the low level of the economy and the lack of both opportunities and development. Therefore, for the role that should be played by the head of the department at the college, and the large number of his administrative responsibilities, which may overcome other responsibilities, and for hisher association directly with the tasks of scholarly research and teaching, the researcher thinks there is a need to identify the level of administrative empowerment with heads of academic departments in the colleges of the University of Baghdad . Aim of the research: ( The knowledge of Administrative empowerment of department at the colleges of Baghdad University from the standpoint of faculty members). In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the descriptive approach was adopted. The researcher prepared two questionnaire froms, one is for administrative empowerment and other for quality of functional life, and included a questionnaire enabling administrative (5) areas: (delegation of authority, effective communication, training and rehabilitation, motivation of employees, and the participation in decision-making ). It included (48) items, while the identification of quality of life functional includes (5) areas: (functional factors, satisfaction with the work environment, the balance between professional and personal life, academic self-realization, and reducing the pressures of work). It contains (47) items. The two forms were distributed to members of the research and the research sample's (300) in the teaching colleges of the University of Baghdad by (153) males and 147 females for the academic year (2013-2014). The researcher recommends the following: 1. Work more on expansion in permissions Authorization for members authority teaching and participating in the decision-making which related to their work through the provision of training programs suitable inside and outside the college and which lead to increase the competency for members authority teaching which reinforcing their abilities to do the tasks delegated to them. 2. Strengthen of contact and communication between different sections and senior administration in college through contract the periodic meetings and provide means of communication effective more than direction between sections different each other and between members authority teaching and senior administration. | ||
