Abstract | ||
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of electromagnetic waves of mobile phone on some hormonal and biochemical tests in blood serum of pregnant rats. 60 pregnant rats were used and divided in to 6 groups, including control and five experimental groups: switch off mobile phone for 1 hrday, switch on and connect mobile phone for 12 hr, 1 hr, 2 hr, 3 hrday. The exposing period was 18 days starting from 1st day to 18th day of pregnancy. (5 – 6) ml of blood were drawn from the eye orbital to measure the concentration of estrogen, progesterone, glutathione and malondialdehyde in blood serum. The results showed that exposing of pregnant rats to electromagnetic waves of mobile phone caused significant lowering of both estrogen and progesterone hormone concentration, and caused significant decreasing of glutathione concentration and significant increasing of malondialdehyde concentration in blood serum in comparison with control group | ||
