Abstract | ||
This research studied the mechanical properties (tensile strength ,impact strength and Brinell hardness) for hybrid material with matrix of unsaturated polyester reinforced by four different weight fraction (5,10,15,20)% of titanium particales, with constant percentage 10% of carbon or glass fiber. Standard samples for tensile, impact and hardness test were prepared. Three samples for each percentage and the average of the three recorded data were taken , the results showed high improvement in the tensile strength from (11.7,22) MPa to (18,29.5) MPa for hybrid polyester reinforced by 10% glass and carbon fiber with 15% weight fraction of titanium particles respectively. Impact test also showed good improvement from (75,160)KJ/m2 to (115,210)KJ/m2 for hybrid polyester with 15% titanium particles. The hardness increased from (98,393)HBN for hybrid polyester with 15% titanium . Generally reinforced by 15% weight fraction for titanium particles improved the mechanical properties more than the rest weight fraction by titanium particles and the same reinforced condition. | ||
