Abstract | ||
The paper is concentrated on the behavior of arched reinforced concrete plates with and without transverse post- tension normal strand bars under concentrated static load. Five R.C. arched plates simply supported of dimensions (1000 mm length x 300 mm width x 50 mm thick) were studied. Two of plates were not post-tension and others with transverse post tension. The parameters of study are governing the effect of reinforcing ratio, with or without post-tension and post-tension ratio on response of arched R.C. plates. To evaluate response of these specimens, the load – deflections were recorded and crack pattern for different case were marked. The experimental test result showed the arched plates with transverse post-tension gave more enhancements in load carrying capacity and decrease in corresponding deflection in range by about (40- 87.5%) and (26- 40%) respectively, also the increase in post-tension reinforcing ratio led to gain in ultimate load by about (33.9%), also the increase in the steel reinforcing ratio to twice gave increase in ultimate load by about (25%). Finally, the used of post-tension bars at end of each support also gave increase in ultimate load and decrease in corresponding deflection by about (23% & 21%) respectively. | ||
