Abstract | ||
Seven vertical electric sounding distributed to four sections carried out by (Schlumberger arrangement) at north eastern of Badra city using SAS-300 Terrameter with an AB/2 of 250m. between Longs. (46o 05' 17.2"– 46o 05' 56.8") and Lats. (32o 53' 09.6"–32 59' 14.6") to detect subsurface layers, geologic stuctures (such as faults) and water table with its quality. This method shows four to six layers, the resistivities are ranging between (9.51-508) ohm.m. depending on the positions of the (VES) points in the area. All of the observed curves shows low resistivity with depths which indicates the water table enriched with CaSO4 of high conductivity because of Fatha Formation (lower Fars) gypsum) . This is proved from the water of some wells near the study area.The water depths range in this area between (19.8-43.3) m. below the surface. The geoelectric and geologic sections also shows the faults clearly trending NE-SW. On other hand four traverses were chosen perpendicular to the strike line of the studied area by magnetic method using proton magnetometer, after diurnal correction for these four sections using Surfer 7.0 program to draw the total magnetic map which shows two parallel shallow vertical faults trending NE-SW direction also. | ||
