Abstract | ||
Skin cancer represents one-third of all cancers that are diagnosed every year in worldwide. The study included fifty skin cancer patients were taken randomly and twenty non cancer patients as control group for comparison. This study was carried out in Laboratories of College of Science, Wasit University in collaboration with Laboratories of AL Zahraa and ALKarama Teaching Hospitals from October 2014 to April 2015. The study of p63 expression was done using immunohistochemistry technique. The results showed signficant increase of expression and intensity of p63 in patients when compared with control group(P<0.05). Furthermore, the results demonstrated significantly correlation in expression and intensity of P63 with histological type of disease (P<0.05), in which, skin squamous cells carcinoma and skin basal cells carcinoma appeared a significant increase in p63 expression compared with malignant melanoma in skin. The early grades of disease (I and II ) showed significantly increase in p63 expression compared with late grade of disease (III) (P<0.05). | ||
