Abstract | ||
In this research, it was aimed to study the effect of valve timing on the low speed direct injection 4-stroke diesel engine (Indoria) performance . For this purpose the simulation method was used by developing a computer program (QBASIC Language ) to predict the effect of (IVC) and (EVO) on the performance parameters (Indicated power, Indicated thermal efficiency, Indicated specific fuel consumption and heat loss) at speeds of (800, 1000 and 1200)rpm. The results showed that the valve timing has a significant effect on the performance parameters. The best results were obtained at (60o) a.BDC for intake valve closing and (40o) b.BDC for exhaust valve opening. | ||
