| Abstract | ||
| The two words , needy and poor , occur separately in many texts and they also come together in one text. To understand the meaning of each word whether they occur together or separately , a study is therefore needed to achieve this purpose. This study attempts to find answers to some questions: 1-Do these words have the same meaning ? If the answer is yes, so do they have the same meaning when they occur in different places or when they come together ? 2-Do they have different meanings ? If the answer is yes, which is worse than the other? The researcher tries to investigate the meanings of the two terms according to the interpreters’ view points and then according to the legitimists’. To find answers to the above questions , the researcher divides the research into three sections. The first deals with the meanings of the two terms according to linguists.The second focuses on the meanings according to the interpreters . The third deals with the meanings of the terms according to the legitmists. | ||
