Abstract | ||
The current paper tries to shed light on the policy followed by ottoman state , which was only one of border emirates ,and actually the smallest and having the least effect at the beginning of its establishment compared to Al-karaman emirate which was the largest and the strongest ,and it was claiming to be the heir of the seljukian state and having impact on the other emirates .this policy led to attach Alkaraman emirates to the ottoman state ,which was then transformed from emirate to a state and later to empire after a long struggle lasted for more than a century and a quarter the paper as well answers the following historical question : how could ottoman state sultans reconcile between adopting jihad philosophy against atheists and expanding at the expense of moslem Aanadolian emirates ,especially Al-karaman emirate. Dealing with the ottoman state policy towards Al-karaman empirate ,the ottoman states attitude towards the forces backing Al-karamans, specifically Al-mamalik and Al-kara koyunlu states ,the two rivaling states with the ottoman state to occupy mid Anadolia . The ottoman state's policy towards Al-karamans ranged from kindness and conciliation to political affinity and later to threat and war and eventually attaching this emirates lands in its entirety to the ottoman in the era of the sultan bayazeed the second . | ||
