Abstract | ||
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of garlic on broiler performance. Ninety six, one day-old commercial broiler chicks (Ross 308) were randomly allocated to 4 treatments with 4 replicates, (24 chick replicate) during 6 weeks. For treatments experimental included T1, as control group fed ration without any supplements (basal diet), T2, T3 and T4 contained supplementary raw garlic powder at level 1, 3 and 5g/kg diet respectively. Growth performance parameter were measured 2 birds per replicate were slaughtered at the end of the trial to evaluate carcass and muscle characteristics. According to the results, Diet with 5g garlic/kg was significantly (P <0.05) increased body weight, body weight gain, feed intake and best feed conversion efficiency as compared to the control group during all experimental period. The highest carcass cuts, breast, thigh and wing weights were attained by feeding 5g garlic/kg and the lowest weight was attained when feeding 1g garlic/kg diet, also organ weights showed no significant difference (P>0.05) between the different treatments | ||
