Abstract | ||
Abstract The aim of the research is to study the role played by the media in forming the public knowledge on the social issues of the Diyala province public, and through a survey of a random sample of the public of the province of Diyala. The research discusses in its theoretical side the presentation of the cultural cultivation of the theory, and assumptions provided by the theory, on which the research has conducted. The focus point of the research is identified and based on the main question that is what the role of the media in developing the social awareness among the public, and the intensity of the relationship seen in it, as well as the impact of the variables of gender and education. The researcher has tried to identify the most important means supported the media in forming the public awareness. The study relied on the descriptive approach which uses the survey method through the application of a questionnaire to a random sample of the public to maintain amounted to 250 people, and the researcher used the Statistics and percentages duplicates, and the application of square Ka 2 to address the statistical results and determine the relationship between variables and the role of Television in developing social consciousness. The research has come to the set of results notably : 1. The 95.7% of the total respondents pointed out that the media contribute to the development of knowledge on the social issues,. 2. the majority of the respondents exposed to satellite channels show a high density and answered at high rates that satellite channels actively contribute to the formation of knowledge about the social issues, while a large proportion reported (80%) of those who watched TV less than an hour a day that they do not contribute to the formation of knowledge. 3. Watching satellite channels from three hours to less than six hours was ranked first among a sample search by 38.9%. 4. The results showed that intellectuals may have solved in the first place among the personalities that respondents believe that they are the most convincing for them in social areas. 5.Among the issues that respondents are keen to follow up constantly replaced administrative and political corruption cases at the top of their list of concerns. 6) topped chock family social institutions to the media in shaping social awareness among the respondents, followed by educational institutions, mosques, and in third place. | ||
