Abstract | ||
The present study reports the removal of crystal violet (C.V) and brilliant green (B.G) dyes from aqueous solutions using modified charcoal (magnetic charcoal) as on adsorbent .Batch adsorption experiments were employed to study the influential conditions on the adsorption process such as dyes concentration , temperature and pH . Equilibrium data fitted well into both the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms at different temperatures . The applicability of the isotherm equation to describe the adsorption process was decided by the correlation coefficients , R2 values .The results obtained suggested that the maximum adsorption capacities are 7.74 and 7.76 mgg-1 for crystal violet and brilliant green respectively at initial concentration 16mgL-1, 47°Cand pH=7.0. Thermodynamic parameters, ∆H,∆S and ∆G were calculated. The results were found to be endothermic and spontaneous .
