Abstract | ||
Some expressions are used as demonstratives, but they are originally adverbs not nouns referring to place or time according to the context in which they are used although they are closely related to place and not to time . Such adverbs are like (here, there and then) which are used in the Holy Qur›an. This research intends to conduct a linguistic approximation on this group of expressions between the linguists› statements and the Quranic use of them through a balance between the linguistic and Quranic indications, to the points of convergence and divergence that characterize these kinds of expressions. This research employs the descriptive analytic method , passing on comparative linguistics approach, which deals with the description of comparative linguistics lesson of these expressions in the Semitic languages from their phonetic and phonological components and their verbal construction. Thus, the present research is entitled “Demonstrative Adverbs: A Linguistics and Quranic Approximation ”. The nature of this topic necessitates that it falls into two parts: the first deals with the demonstrative adverb (here) in its various forms such as (there) .The second deals with the adverb (then). Each part includes a preliminary that clarifies the relationship of these expressions to the approximate ones in the Semitic languages and then a description of the statements that characterize each expression in Arabic with its Quranic use . In the last part, findings are given in relation to these types of expressions in Arabic. | ||
