Abstract | ||
The cognitive load shows that the learning may occur by two ways of memory (Working memory and long-term memory) , the working memory is an active competent which treat the required information ,imposes a high difficult level to be absorbed by the memory at a particular time . The mental capacity is one of thinking process and learning determinates which considers of the most important psychological factors to the remembering process . Working Memory is the biggest Physiology responsible for cognitive concepts and stimuli that conform the important role in the life activities . The student need to reduce the cognitive load on his memory during learning in order to obtain an effective learn based on the high thinking skills in addition to more information to be as a base of learning to draw cognitive plans ; the research problem is a difficult that faced the students in learning because of the large number of information ,requires concentration , attention and processed them within a specified time . The research importance is the university young who are a future young and their investment in community service. The Current search aimed to determine the level of the cognitive load and mental capacity among college students, according to a variable( gender – academic specialize ) . The statistical significance can indentify by the relationship between the cognitive load and mental capacity in accordance with the three levels ( high capacity – medium capacity – low capacity ) . The research sample formed (400) male and female students from five scientific colleges and five literary colleges ,examined randomly as (20) male students and (20) female students . The cognitive load which consists of 20 paragraph and mental capacity which consists of 40 paragraph were done to achieve the research goals , after checking extraction psychometric characteristics validity and reliability . The results showed that the university students have a high level of cognitive load especially scientific colleges and their mental capacity were medium but the mental capacity of the scientific college students were larger of literary colleges in addition to the relation between the cognitive load and mental capacity according to the three levels and gender and specialize variable. The researcher added group of recommendation and proposals in accordance with the research results . | ||
