The study addressed the geomorphological analysis of the distributed geomorphological landform units in Soran- Diana area, Arbil province. The diversity of geological structure with topographic and the wet climate of the region made the area have visible geomorphologic variety. This diversity of landforms ranged between the erosional origins, sediment, the units resulting from weathering process and movement of the surface material. The effective geomorphological factor in the formation of these phenomena is water, whether rivers or rainfall, because it is responsible for the formation of the manifestations of erosion sole (with the absence of Aeolian or wind erosion factor and glacier erosion) in the region also, many of sedimental phenomena date back to its activity. The study concluded the determination of the geomorphology of 13 landform units were distributed to 5 units of geomorphological eroding origin, 4 units of geomorphological sedimental origin, two types of surface material movement on the slopes and two units due weathering. The study relied on some sources and researches which addressed the classification of geomorphological units, as well as topographic maps scale 1/100000. | ||
