Abstract : Evaporation process formed the most component of water hydrologic cycle in nature. This study attracts the attention of concerned researchers especially in lacking water resources areas in requiring preserving such vital resources. This study aims at comparing the application of Artificial Neural Network and Fuzzy System for estimating daily reference evaporation for class (A) in Mosul area northern Iraq. A computer Fuzzy System had been designed for evaluating the daily evaporation to the evaporating pool class (A). Different membership functions are used depending on daily climatic data (temperature, solar radiation, wind speed at 2m height, and relative humidity). . Comparing the computing fuzzy logic models with the artificial neural network, Results showed that the two applications are a convenient way to estimate the actual evaporation of class (A), instead of using complicated equations; these equations require many hydrological parameters. Often, some necessary data are difficult to measure and record. Fuzzy logic is a very powerful tool for dealing quickly and efficiently with imprecision and nonlinearity. | ||
