| Abstract | ||
| Abstract The research aimed to know attitudes of corn growers towards using sowing machine in Taza District Kirkuk province, determining the relationship between these attitudes of corn growers and following independent factors (age , educational background , type of farm that they work in , number of family member who work in the farm), also knowing the problems which are being faced by the growers in this condition. The research included all growers of corn who applied planting by using the sowing machines in villages of Taza totaling (540) planters, proportionate stratified random sample of (10%) was chosen forming (54) farmers in order to achieve research aims, a questionnaire used based on views and approval of specialists experts, the application consists of three parts, the first part included above mentioned independent factors, the second part includedascaleto measure the attitude of planters of corn toward using sowing machine which consists of (30) paragraphs , the third part included the problems that faced by the planters in using sowing machines. Data had been collected during June, July 2013 by a questionnaire and personal interviews, the results showed that average of planters trends to using sowing machine was (65.93) points and the level of (81.5) researched attitudes toward using sowing machine is being described as indifferent and positive, also there were significant correlation among planters attitudes to using sowing machine and all independent factors (age, educational background, kind of farm that they work in, number of family members who work in the farm,while there was no correlation with age concerning the proplems, the research showed that (the luck of appropriate number of sowing machines which are being renated from agriculture department at the beginning of agricultural season) is ranked first in terms of importanance,as for the proplem of (failure to report the planters about time of implementation of extensionactivities related to using sowing machines) is ranked last in terms of importance The researcher recommends the need to increase extension activities (training courses , extension session and extension editions …etc.) all these are responsibility of extension circulation and agricultural training to change negative attitudes of corn planters and alteration their indifferent attitudes toward using sowing machines, beside of focusing on the planters who are characterized by certain characteristics like (educational level , kind of ranch that they have, size of the ranch, number of family members who are characterized by certain characteristics like (educational level , kind of ranch that they have , size of the ranch , number of family members who work in the farm), to change their attitudes toward using sowing machine by preparing extension programs like training courses and others, also not to ignore the other planters who do not have to these characteristics by increasing extension efforts to change their attitudes, also the researcher recommends Ministry of agriculture agricultural supplement company to provide enough number of sowing machines for agriculture depart- ments in Kirkuk province, specially Taza agriculture department in order to be rented by planters beside of providing financial support (governmental loans) for planters, specially poor planters to enable them to buying sowing machines. | ||
