Abstract | ||
Poverty is the phenomena that define the general economy features of any country. This phenomenon exist in both developed and under-developed countries which is identified from social, economical and cultural perspectives. This research hypothesis that there are several methods which have been used in the reduction of poverty for different countries, but the impact of these methods is generally unidentified. Determining the effectiveness of the poverty indicators would contribute in the reduction of the poverty in the sample countries which can be also utilized as an indicator in the area of poverty limitation for other countries. Therefore, the aim of the research is to analyze some of the methods which have been adopted by under-developed countries and identify their effectiveness in poverty reduction. Based on published literature in the field of poverty limitation, the research adopted descriptive, quantitative and analytical equations to measure the effectiveness of the different methods of poverty reduction. The research concluded that the ILPH index is significantly affected by all its components including the rate of economic growth, good governance index, the proportion of the poor and the size of the international support, in addition to other factors such as the Zakat. Other factors such as the impact of the education in reducing unemployment has not been analyzed due to the lack of data provided for the sample countries. The research suggested that factors such as economic inflation, unemployment, internal/external goods trade and rate of currency exchange are dominating indicators which have major impact on reducing the poverty. | ||
