Abstract The paper sheds the light on the character of Nasrat Al-Farisy and the role he has taken in more than one phase, in addition to his interests and activities that covered more than aspect of life. Our study of him will be about his role in the Parliament for the period (1925-1928) leaving the space for other researchers to further study Nasrat Al-Farisy. We try to highlight his most important activities and the most prominent opinions he had at the period, focusing on the attitude or Nasrat Al-Farisy to social and economic issues and his statements inside the Parliament. Nasrat Al-Farisy has a prominent attitude to the British concessions in Iraq. He stood firmly against any shortage in the Iraqi sovereignty which Britain tried hard to gain from the Iraqis. In regard to the attitude of Nasrat Al-Farisy from the issues of health and education, it was clear that the parliament representation was keen to strengthen then all over Iraq from the North to the South. It was natural for him to have outstanding opinions about legal issues, since he was a lawyer,a matter that is seen in more than one situation, and the same can be said about his attitude towards the issues of freedom of expression and the press, in which he affirmed the importance of the cultural and intellectual development in Iraq. | ||
