Abstract | ||
The current research which is entitled (Al Ramlah City in the Travelers’ Books/ A study on its Architectural Plans and Economic Status) sheds light on Al Ramlah’s history, the sixth most important Arab Islamic cities which were established by Arabs after Basrah, Kufa, Fustat, Qairawan, and Wasit. It is the first Arab city built by Arabs in Levant. There are different views in this regard. This research, also, deals with its development stages in the architectural aspect and the reason behind its retreat in some period of time. Furthermore, it deals with the economic aspect and its most important activities, in particular trade, industry, agriculture and their development factors. This research is of three sections; the first one deals with the establishment of Al Ramlah, origin of its name, location, area, beginning of its history and reasons behind its establishment. The second section sheds light on the architectural aspect of Al Ramlah, its elements, and the impact of the setbacks and catastrophes on its architectural development. As for the third section it deals with the economic aspect of Al Ramlah, like trade, industry and agriculture. The research is concluded with the most important findings achieved by the researchers. | ||
