The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between some metabolites constituent in follicular fluid of ovarian from different sized follicles and it's relationship with follicular size in local cows. Ovaries were collected (140 ovary) from 70 adults non-pregnant cows which slaughtered at abattoirs of Babylon province during the period from March 2015 to September 2015. The ovaries were transported to the laboratory within 2 hours after slaughtering. Follicular fluid was withdrawal from small(3-10mm)and large (11-20mm) follicles and stored at -5ºC prior to analysis. The follicular fluid samples were analyzed for cholesterol, total protein and glucose, using commercial kits. The result showed that the average concentration of cholesterol and glucose in follicular fluid of large follicles were significantly higher (P<0.05) than the follicular fluid in small follicles. The average concentration of total protein in ovarian follicular fluid of large follicles were significantly lower (P<0.05) than that in follicular fluid in small follicles. | ||
