Nickel – Cadmium ferrites having the chemical formula (Ni1-xCdxFe2O4), (0 ≤ X ≤ 0.5) were prepared by using powders technology method. The grain size of the ferrite samples were estimated from X-ray diffraction studies after the confirmation of the formation of single phase spinel structure of the ferrites. We found that the Lattice constant and density (ρx-ray), ( ρd) increased with Cd content while the porosity was noticed to decrease. The electrical resistivity and the dielectric constant was found to increases with the increase of cadmium concentration, while the loss factor and the dielectric loss tangent decreases with the increase of cadmium concentration. A maximum of loss factor and the dielectric loss tangent was observed when the hopping frequency is equal to the external electric field frequency. The dielectric constant and the loss factor and the dielectric loss tangent decreases with the rise in frequency. Also notice decrease in resistivity with temperature is normal behavior for semiconductors. | ||
