Abstract | ||
An experiment was conducted in a Faculty of education for Girls/ Kufa university .Laboratories to test the effect of allelochemical compounds released from (Zea mayse L.) residues on(Helianthus annuus L.) Plants, and determined whether the reduction in growth of sunflowercrop rotation was due to toxicity of corn residues.Results showed that the residues of corn significantly reduced vegetative and root growth .also, Aqueous extracts of rice significantly reduced seed germination and seedling growth of sunflower.The toxicity of the residues appeared two weeks after residues decomposition of soil and continue for six weeks.also results strongly suggest the toxicity effect of corn causative factor responsible of sunflower growth reduced . | ||
