Abstract | ||
Al ـHusseini Mourning ceremonial rituals are no longer only a religious phenomenon of ritual, but have become a social and politica phenomenon of popularity and of privacy in the Muslim world ; one stands humble towards this painful anniversary to remember the greatness of the sacrifice made by Imam Hussein(peace be upon him ) . The history bows to Imam Hussein because he had his revolution on injustice and tyranny with a few of family and supporters so that the Islam's flag could remain high for The sake of the principles of freedom and being of kept from deviation .The blood of Imam Hussein (peace be upon them ), and his family and his companions in the year (61) was shed on the soil of Karbala to lit the path of freedom . The Husseini rituals represent one of the main tributaries of the continuation of the human link with Ahlul- Bait and as blood was shed tears were over flown the Messenger of Allah 's case, the Husseini cause . The rituals have shed light on the reality of the eternal struggle between right and wrong . They constituted the identity of the nation and gave it a real affiliation school to the brilliance of Islam so they represented an extension of the message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him and his progeny) when he said, "Hussein is from me and I am from Hussein," Allah, the Most high, loves those who love Imam Husain " ; they represented that struggle performed by Ahlul- Bait ( pbuth) and they also represented a difficult test for those who are in farour of or against such ceremonies This research studied the Husseini rituals in the city of Karbala in (1831-1914) . Its importance lies in its ability to clarify the nature of ceremonies and rituals followed in the months of Muharram and Safar, as well as other religious occasions, as marked by social characteristics associated with customs and traditions and social activities common in the holy city during the Ottoman period . Being the destination of thousands of visitors each year, either from inside Iraq or from abroad, since that time, this city has become the focus of attention of Muslims until it assumed its high status. This research was divided into an introduction and three sections with a conclusion Section one dealt with the emergence of Husseini rituals, while the second section studied the social aspects of Husseini rituals and religious events and the role of Karbalai society in their revival, The third Section highlighted the social impact of Husseini rituals and their reflection on the nature of social customs and traditions prevailed in Karbalai society at that time. To sum up, the city of Karbala occupied, a special status in the hearts of the faithful due to its ancient inherited traditions, until recently , it has been a center and a place of attraction for the city in habitants . It has also become a place and destination to which pilgrims come from all over the Islamic world resulting in its development both socially and econ | ||
