| The research deals with the impact of urban expansion at the expnse of agricultural land in the countryside . Al Saqlawiyahs Township Abu Sedira.County has been chosen as a model for study because of its importance, being a wide area and important location .The study highlighted . Urban expansion across three stages for the period of 1977-2012 .The poper is set to highlight the percentage of the change in population numbers and areas of agricultural land and the number of houses in order to unify the scale to see the size of the gap between the two changes , be cause different units of measure through the use of the population growth rate and the rate of change of agricultural areas cannot make tables and draw graphs that show the change rates. The paper has come up with the following results: 1 .Urban expansion in all its forms was random in agriculturd areas . 2 .The agricultural land areas shrunk between the years 1987 to 2012 by a large margin (-16.22%) 3 . The number of housing units increased significantly and reached the percentage to 114% between 1987-1997 and 71% between 1997 to 2012 resulting in truncating a large areas of arable land and nverted to residential purposes . | ||
