| A pot experiment was conducted to study the effect of addition of nitrogen and zinc fertilizers and their interaction in content, and response and fertilizers efficiency of wheat (var. Mexipak L.) in two different soil textures. Experiment consisted of 5 levels of N (i.e., 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg Kg-1) and 5 levels of Zn (i.e., 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 mg Kg-1) and two soils (Clay loam S1 and Sandy S2). Wheat was used as an indictor plant. A factorial experiment was used in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates. The results showed that the addition of N and Zn significantly increased all parameters and 200 mg N Kg-1 level gave highest values of N content for both straw and grains of wheat and they were 9.74, 17.55 mg N Kg-1 dry matter respectively. Highest values of Zn content (72.52 , 76.80 mg Zn Kg-1 dry matter) for both straw and grains respectively were obtained at level 20 mg Zn Kg-1. Results also showed also that the 100 mg N Kg-1 level gave highest values for response percentage and nitrogen use efficiency while 10 mg Zn Kg-1 level gave highest value for response percentage, However 20 mg Zn Kg-1 level gave highest value for zinc use efficiency. Interaction between N and Zn significantly increased all parameters and interaction treatment (N100, Zn10) was superior by giving the highest value for N and Zn use efficiency. All parameters in Clay loam soil significantly increased as compared with sandy soil. Regression technique confirmed that curvilinear trends were found between plant parameters and both N and Zn level addition. | ||
