This study was conducted at the Poultry farm / Department of Animal Resources , College of Agriculture / University of Al-Qasim Green . The field work of this study was performed during the period from 17/10/2014 until 27/11/2014 . The project of this study was aimed to identify the role of utilization of Carnitine in reduction of heat stress on quail birds . Three hundred of Japanese quail chicks were used and educated in cages 1×1 m . The chicks were randomly divided into 5 treatments and by 3 replicates per treatment and each treatment was included 20 chicks , The Carnitine was used in concentrations (0 , 100 , 200 , 300 , 400) mg / kg diet for treatments (T1 , T2 , T3 , T4 , T5) respectively from age 8-42 days . The most important results of this study could be summarized by the following : 1- Significant superiority (P<0.01) in dressing percentage for the sacrifices carnitine treatment birds compared with T1 control treatment birds at age of 42 days and T5 treatment had significant superiority (P<0.01) in the weight of chest piece in comparison with other treatments while T4 and T5 treatments had significant superiority (P<0.01) in the weight of thigh piece . 2- Significant reduction in the abdominal fat for sacrifices carnitine treatment birds compared with sacrifices T1 control treatment birds and there was a significant elevation in the weight of birds livers for T3 , T4 and T5 treatments in comparison with sacrifices birds T1 and T2 treatments at age of 42 days . | ||
