Impact of Soil application of Compost Tea and Spraying of Salicylic Acid on Vegetative Growth of Lemon Seedlings | ||

| An experiment was carried out during ( 2013- 2014 ) in lath house in Faculty of Agriculture, University of Kufa to study the effect of soil application of compost tea at levels (250 and 500 ml/ transplants), and spraying with salicylic acid at 10 mg.L-1 and the interaction between them on vegetative growth of Lemon ( Citrus limon Burm.f. ) grafted on sour orange (Citrus aurantium L. ) and Volkamer lemon ( C. volkameriana Ten and pas.). Results showed a significant effect of rootstocks on vegetative growth traits in which Volkamer lemon gave the highest values of increase in length of stem , number of leaves ,fresh weight ,total chlorophyll ,dry weight, and stem diameter . Soil application of compost tea at levels 250ml/seedling with spraying salicylic acid at 10 mg.L-1 gave the highest values in comparison with the lowest rates that resulted for control treatment. Interaction between rootstock and treatments had significant effect on traits in which soil application of compost tea at levels 250ml/transplants with spraying salicylic acid at 10 mg.L-1 for Lemon grafted on Volkamer gave the highest values in all the traits compared to the Lemon grafted on sour orange which gave the lowest values | ||
