Abstract | ||
Secondary traumatic stress (STS) occurs as a result of indirect exposure to traumatic event. The effect of an individual' s traumatic stress on family members, involves posttraumatic stress disorder PTSD, which are typically experienced by individuals suffering from PTSD. The objectives of current study were to identify both PTSD in Iraqi military and STSS in their parents, in addition it investigate if there significant deference in accordance with gender, age and SES in secondary traumatic stress of parents army. To achieve the objectives, (400) Iraqi military, and (200) parents participated in the current study, two scales administered, PTSD symptoms Scale to determine PTSD symptoms among Iraqi military, and STS scale, to investigate STS in their parents. The result showed (25.755%) developed PTSD, (78) parents of military traumatized developed STS, as result of indirect exposure to traumatic war, addition, the research have many recondition and future study | ||
