Abstract Poetics and interpretation are two terms that can be described as both classical and modern in both Western and Arabic criticism. They date from the ancient critical discourse, but have attracted more attention recently. Poetics can be defined as the study of what distinguishes the literary text as a unique entity. As to interpretation, it is an approach that tries to dig into the depth of the text to uncover its hidden meanings. As such, both poetics and interpretion relate to each other.
