ABSTRACT: The research was conducted at plastic house in Agriculture college /Kufa University during the season of 2012-2013, to study effect of Bio-fertilizer Azotobacter sp. and nitrogen spraying on seedlings growth of tomato Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.,c.v. Super Marmond and eggplant Solanum melongena L.,c.v. Black Beauty. The experiment included two factors; the first was Bio-fertilizer (Azotobacter sp.) with three concentrations( 0, 1 and 2 gm.100 seed-1 ) and second factor was spraying of nitrogen fertilize as (urea) with three concentration(0, 100 and 200 mg.L-1).The study was conducted as two experiments to each plant ,used Randomized Complete Block Design (R.C.B.D.) at factorial experiment with nine treatments ,each one replicated three times, and the comparison was done using Duncans multiples range test to compare means with probability of 0.05 level. The results showed that seed pollination of tomato and eggplant with of 2 gm. 100 seed-1 Bio-fertilizer Azotobacter sp. caused a significant increases of vegetative growth parameters plant height to 5.59 and 7.10 cm , leaves number to 6.31 and 6.09 leaf.plant-1 ,leaf area to 7.01 and 8.00 cm2 and dry matter to 3.57 and 3.58 gm.plant-1 for each plant tomato and eggplant plant respectively. The interaction between two factors significantly increased of studies characters, compare with control which gave the lowest of all vegetative growth parameters. | ||
