Abstract : The study was carried out at the field of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening, College of Agriculture, University of Baghdad during the spring season of 2013 to examine the response of three varieties of watermelon, Charleston (A) Crimson (B), and Shahad (C) to grafting using three different squash rootstocks: ES113 (1), ULMPIC (2), and RS841(3). The experiment was conducted according to the randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications using the least significant difference (LSD) for comparison at %5 level of significance, the results showed that A1 plants had exhibited a significant increase in fruit number and total yield which gave 2.84 fruit plant-1 and 91 ton ha-1 respectively. However, A3 plants showed significant increase in total soluble solids which gave 10.25%. whereas grafted B2 plants showed asignificant increase in total yield and scored 79.6 ton ha-1, Nevertheless grafted C2 plants showed significant increase in total soluble solids that gave 11.25%. | ||
